ERVKN   ದೇವರು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾನೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಅನಂತರ ಸುನ್ನತಿ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು. ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಸುನ್ನತಿ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮೊದಲೇ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ನೀತಿವಂತನಾಗಿದ್ದನು ಎಂಬುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನ ಸುನ್ನತಿಯೇ ಆಧಾರವಾಗಿದೆ. ಆದಕಾರಣ ನಂಬುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರಿಗೆ, ಅವರು ಸುನ್ನತಿ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೂ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ತಂದೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ನೀತಿವಂತರೆಂದು ಎಣಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವರು.

ERVEN   Abraham was circumcised later to show that God accepted him. His circumcision was proof that he was right with God through faith before he was circumcised. So Abraham is the father of all those who believe but are not circumcised. They believe and are accepted as people who are right with God.
NLV   He went through the religious act after he had put his trust in God. That religious act proved that his trust in God made him right with God even before he went through the religious act of becoming a Jew. In that way, it made him the early father of all those who believe. It showed that those who did not go through the religious act of becoming a Jew could be right with God.
NCV   Abraham was circumcised to show that he was right with God through faith before he was circumcised. So Abraham is the father of all those who believe but are not circumcised; he is the father of all believers who are accepted as being right with God.
