2 Chronicles 15 (ERVEN) Easy to Read - English

1 The Spirit of God came on Azariah, who was Obed's son.
2 Azariah went to meet Asa and said, "Listen to me Asa, and all you people of Judah and Benjamin. The Lord is with you when you are with him. If you look for the Lord, you will find him. But if you leave him, he will leave you.
3 For a long time Israel was without the true God. And they were without a teaching priest, and without the law.
4 But when the Israelites had trouble, they turned to the Lord God again. He is the God of Israel. They looked for the Lord and they found him.
5 In those times of trouble, no one could travel safely. There was much trouble in all the nations.
6 One nation would destroy another nation and one city would destroy another city. This was happening because God gave them all kinds of trouble.
7 But Asa, you and the people of Judah and Benjamin, be strong. Don't be weak, don't give up because you will get a reward for your good work!"
8 Asa felt encouraged when he heard these words and the message from Obed the prophet. Then he removed the hated idols from the whole area of Judah and Benjamin. He also removed the hated idols from the towns he had captured in the hill country of Ephraim. And he repaired the Lord's altar that was in front of the porch of the Lord's Temple.
9 Then Asa gathered all the people from Judah and Benjamin and the people from the tribes of Ephraim, Manasseh, and Simeon who had moved from the country of Israel to live in the country of Judah. A great many of these people came to Judah because they saw that the Lord, Asa's God, was with him.
10 Asa and these people gathered together in Jerusalem on the third month in the 15 year of Asa's rule.
11 At that time they sacrificed 700 bulls and 7000 sheep and goats to the Lord. Asa's army had taken the animals and other valuable things from their enemies.
12 Then they made an agreement to serve the Lord God with all their heart and with all their soul. He is the God their ancestors served.
13 Anyone who refused to serve the Lord God was to be killed. It did not matter if that person was important or not or if that person was a man or woman.
14 Then Asa and the people made an oath to the Lord. They shouted it out loudly and blew their trumpets and rams' horns.
15 All the people of Judah were happy about the oath, because they had promised with all their heart. They followed God with all their heart. They looked for God and found him, so the Lord gave them peace in all the country.
16 King Asa also removed Maacah, his mother, from being queen mother. He did this because she had set up one of those awful poles to honor the goddess Asherah. Asa cut down that Asherah pole, smashed it into small pieces, and burned the pieces in the Kidron Valley.
17 Asa did not destroy the high places, even though he was faithful to the Lord all his life.
18 Asa and his father had given some special gifts to God. Asa put these gifts of gold, silver, and other things into the Temple.
19 There was no more war until the 35 year of Asa's rule.

2 And he went out H3318 W-VQY3MS to meet H6440 L-CMP Asa H609 , and said H559 W-VQY3MS unto him , Hear H8085 ye me , Asa H609 , and all H3605 W-CMS Judah H3063 and Benjamin H1144 ; The LORD H3068 EDS is with H5973 PREP-3MP you , while ye be H1961 with H5973 PREP-3MS him ; and if H518 ye seek H1875 him , he will be found H4672 of you ; but if H518 W-PART ye forsake H5800 him , he will forsake H5800 you .
3 Now for a long season H7227 AMP Israel H3478 hath been without H3808 L-NPAR the true H571 CFS God H430 CDP , and without H3808 a teaching H3384 priest H3548 , and without H3808 law H8451 .
4 But when they in their trouble H6862 did turn H7725 unto H5921 PREP the LORD H3068 EDS God H430 CDP of Israel H3478 , and sought H1245 him , he was found H4672 of them .
5 And in those H1992 D-PPRO-3MP times H6256 there was no H369 NPAR peace H7965 NMS to him that went out H3318 , nor to him that came in H935 , but H3588 CONJ great H7227 AFP vexations H4103 were upon H5921 PREP all H3605 NMS the inhabitants H3427 of the countries H776 .
6 And nation H1471 was destroyed H3807 of nation H1471 , and city H5892 of city H5892 : for H3588 CONJ God H430 EDP did vex H2000 them with all H3605 B-CMS adversity H6869 NFS .
7 Be ye strong H2388 therefore , and let not H408 W-NPAR your hands H3027 be weak H7503 : for H3588 CONJ your work H6468 shall be H3426 PART rewarded H7939 .
8 And when Asa H609 heard H8085 these H428 D-DPRO-3MP words H1697 AMP , and the prophecy H5016 of Oded H5752 the prophet H5030 , he took courage H2388 , and put away H5674 W-VHI3MS the abominable idols H8251 out of all H3605 M-CMS the land H776 GFS of Judah H3063 and Benjamin H1144 , and out of H4480 W-PREP the cities H5892 which H834 RPRO he had taken H3920 from mount H2022 Ephraim H669 , and renewed H2318 the altar H4196 of the LORD H3068 EDS , that H834 RPRO was before H6440 L-CMP the porch H197 of the LORD H3068 NAME-4MS .
9 And he gathered H6908 all H3605 NMS Judah H3063 and Benjamin H1144 , and the strangers H1481 with H5973 PREP-3MP them out of Ephraim H669 and Manasseh H4519 , and out of Simeon H8095 : for H3588 CONJ they fell H5307 VQQ3MP to H5921 PREP-3MS him out of Israel H3478 in abundance H7230 LD-NMS , when they saw H7200 that H3588 CONJ the LORD H3068 EDS his God H430 CMP-3MS was with H5973 PREP-3MS him .
10 So they gathered themselves together H6908 at Jerusalem H3389 in the third H7992 D-ONUM month H2320 BD-NMS , in the fifteenth H2568 BFS year H8141 of the reign H4438 of Asa H609 .
11 And they offered H2076 unto the LORD H3068 L-EDS the same H1931 D-PPRO-3MS time H3117 B-AMS , of H4480 PREP the spoil H7998 which they had brought H935 , seven H7651 hundred H3967 BFP oxen H1241 NMS and seven H7651 RMS thousand H505 sheep H6629 .
12 And they entered H935 W-VQY3MP into a covenant H1285 to seek H1875 the LORD H3068 EDS God H430 CDP of their fathers H1 with all H3605 B-CMS their heart H3824 and with all H3605 WB-CMS their soul H5315 ;
13 That whosoever H3605 W-CMS would not H3808 ADV seek H1875 the LORD H3068 L-EDS God H430 of Israel H3478 should be put to death H4191 , whether H4480 small H6996 AMS or H5704 W-PREP great H1419 AMS , whether man H376 or H5704 W-PREP woman H802 NFS .
14 And they swore H7650 unto the LORD H3068 L-EDS with a loud H1419 AMS voice H6963 B-NMS , and with shouting H8643 , and with trumpets H2689 , and with cornets H7782 .
15 And all H3605 CMS Judah H3063 rejoiced H8055 at H5921 PREP the oath H7621 : for H3588 CONJ they had sworn H7650 with all H3605 their heart H3824 , and sought H1245 him with their whole H3605 WB-CMS desire H7522 ; and he was found H4672 of them : and the LORD H3068 EDS gave them rest H5117 round about H5439 .
16 And also H1571 concerning Maachah H4601 the mother H517 GFS of Asa H609 the king H4428 D-NMS , he removed H5493 her from being queen H1377 , because H834 RPRO she had made H6213 VQQ3MS an idol H4656 in a grove H842 : and Asa H609 cut down H3772 her idol H4656 , and stamped H1854 it , and burnt H8313 it at the brook H5158 Kidron H6939 .
17 But the high places H1116 were not H3808 NADV taken away H5493 VQQ3MP out of Israel H3478 : nevertheless H7535 ADV the heart H3824 of Asa H609 was H1961 VQQ3MS perfect H8003 all H3605 NMS his days H3117 CMP-3MS .
18 And he brought into H935 W-VHY3MS the house H1004 CMS of God H430 D-EDP the things that his father H1 CMS-3MS had dedicated H6944 , and that he himself had dedicated H6944 , silver H3701 NMS , and gold H2091 , and vessels H3627 .
19 And there was H1961 no H3808 NADV more war H4421 unto H5704 PREP the five H2568 and thirtieth H7970 MMP year H8141 of the reign H4438 of Asa H609 .
